Plentycast - April 2013

Well, after a period of inactivity comes a period of activity I guess. We're now all caught up and are actually recording and releasing the April podcast in April! Riches indeed...

I will say however that the aforementioned period of activity does bring its pressures in having to think about having enough tracks to play within a short time frame of each other so I don't know how those weekly podcasters do it! Maybe I should just go and buy more records or something but I fear that I will continue to be distracted by sporting events on the TV and the like so don't spend enough time listening to newer music. And this coming the week after Record Store Day as well... Mind you, it's "shop" and not "store" but that's a whole other story...

Plentycast - March 2013

Well, we're trying our best to catch up as best we can so here's the March podcast. In April...

This was recorded right after we finished the February podcast (in April) and contains the usual mix of guid tunes and inane chat. Alas, as you'll hear, we have to remember too many good people that are no longer with us - I know it seems trite to play these songs at this time but we do so out of love and respect to the music that they have given us and I hope it's appropriate to do so by appreciating the music that they've created.

Since we recorded the podcast, the news has broken that Chi Cheng, the former bass player of Deftones who'd been in a coma and then a partially conscious state since a horrific car crash a few years ago, has also passed away. We played a more recent Deftones song on this podcast but would like to remember his playing on earlier recordings. RIP Chi, our thoughts are with your family and friends.

Yes, it's the February 'cast. In April...

Welcome back and it appears we're over our unintentional hiatus. Thanks again to our pal Iain H for manning the fort last time around and I'm sure it won't be the last time you hear his dulcet tones on one of these here podcasts.

So, a few of these songs you were meant to hear in February before I got defeated by technology and then we got defeated by life (but that's a whole other story...) turn up again and there's a few additions to round it up and bring it all together. I think this is a good 'un this month and I hope you agree and enjoy the songs we've picked. You'll see there's something from that up and coming Liverpool band The Beatles. Plentycast - The Hinchcast #2

Hello folks. First of all, apologies for straying from the course of monthly podcasts. We had a bit of a disaster when recording last month when the file stopped recording about half way through and what we had was lost. We promised ourselves that we'd re-record the following week but real life has again got in the way and there's been a bit of an unscheduled hiatus. We'll get our shit together I'm sure.

In the meantime, here's a bit of a treat. Regular correspondent and our pal Iain H has recorded another guest podcast for us and we're delighted to host it and publish it for your enjoyment this holiday weekend. As a great man with a great taste in music, you won't be surprised to hear that Iain has picked some splendid tracks to play. We'd like to thank Iain for taking the time to do this, it's very much appreciated and we were excited to hear what he would choose to play. He didn't let us down in that regard and we hope you like it as much as we do.
